I don't need a Newborn Photographer...Do I?

     I have been meaning to write this post for quite some time and well 7:30 in the morning sounds like a great time to write! There are so many times when I see that someone chose to pass up on newborn photos as it just wasn't something that they felt they would NEED or was worth the cost. In our world now the market is flooded with this camera and that camera and the price for a standard digital camera and even SLR's have made it practical for every family to own one. With that being the norm now I find that some people feel that because they own a camera they don't NEED to invest in to professional pictures, especially for Newborns. I mean hey you got pictures when they were born, what else do you need right? Well I say YES YOU NEED NEWBORN pictures captured by a Photographer, and preferably one that specializes in working with Newborns.

      Most Photographers that specialize with newborns will have spent many hours of studying everything that pertains to a newborn, I know I have! They do this because we truly LOVE our jobs and capturing these sweet and precious moments for families. I have learned how they sleep, which ways holding them will keep them calm, how to sooth them if they get upset, the room temperature that works best, signs that their tummies are hurting, what to do when they won't go to sleep, how to wrap them, and more. I literally ate, slept, and breathed how to work with newborns in my extra time and learning time last year as that is where my heart is. I have also learned SAFE poses and by safe meaning I am not going to put your precious little one in a pose that could potentially cause any harm to them. While some may see that as a person who doesn't take risks I see it as someone who cares just as much about your baby as you do. Props are another important aspect with my style being minimum props so I can showcase baby and when working with a Professional Photographer you are more than likely going to have a wider array of items than what you may have lying around the house. Think you can't afford a newborn session? If you were to cut back on going out to eat for one month I can guarantee your session would be paid for!

       As a new parent it can be overwhelming at first and as a Photographer I strive to make photos the easy part. Newborn Sessions are also engaging as they will capture those first moments with you as a new family or adding in to your family. They will capture those moments you fought back tears from the lack of sleep before the session when you see your baby sleeping peacefully for the first time. They will capture those proud grins from Dad when he see's his little girl all dolled up as she lets out a little grin while she is sleeping. They will capture Dad's heart to have a picture in his firehat or on his desk of his beautiful wife and their son when he was small enough to fit in Dad's hand. I think it is clear you NEED Newborn Pictures, please choose a professional that cares to capture these special memories and moments for you. Trust me, it is gone in a blink of an eye and time seems to pass so much more quickly with children than you can ever imagine. Document their lives, take photos and lots of them, but be sure to get on the other side of the lens and let someone else document your lives as a family as well.

Welcome to the World Sadie! {Lexington, NC Newborn Photographer}

This little lady was one of the easiest newborns I have ever worked with. Her session was in record time for me at just over 40 minutes and that was with 3 set ups AND family shots! I think it is safe to say she is a very good baby. I love that Mom wanted to incorporate some of their interests in to the session by bringing the saddle. I think when parents do this it makes their session unique to their families!

Cameron is 3mo! {Lexington, NC Baby Photographer}

 Ahh, does this little guy just melt your heart or what?! He is GORGEOUS to be a little guy and has the sweetest little gummy grins. Mom came ready full of ideas and goodies to incorporate and I couldn't wait to merge everything together for this session. I think he rocked it out!

Baby K is 3mo! {Lexington, NC Baby Photographer}

I was happy to welcome this little lady to the {Watch Me Grow} family. She is just as every bit sweet as she is adorable! She had all the charm to carry out the petti romper and pearls! I loved that she was so happy and smiling and I can't wait to see her in a few months!

Kerri and James Engagement Session {Kernersville, NC Photographer}

 Kerri and James have got to be one of the most photogenic couples I have ever worked with. They seriously made it look effortless! We chose a location for their Engagement Session that would have meaning for years to come and it couldn't have been a more perfect fit for both the session and their personalities. I know there are several sneak peaks but I really couldn't narrow down what my favorites were, I hope yall enjoy them!

Jomar is 12mo! {Lexington, NC Child Photographer}

Jomar really showed his little personality in this session. From those sweet little grins to his excitement for his family he was a very happy little guy. This was a new location to try out and I think it worked beautifully for this session. I think by the pictures you can tell he enjoyed the cake!

Beck Family {Winston Salem, NC Family Photographer}

I had a wonderful time with this large family shoot last weekend. Not only were they a funny family they were also fun to be around. I like that it was something different and I was able to pull out my creativity for a few shots. Be sure to check out the very last image, would you believe these two have been married for 19 years?! That is an example of true love that has grown throughout the years! I hope yall enjoy the sneak peaks!

Camden is 9mo! {Lexington, NC Baby Photographer}

Camden was in town this weekend for his 9mo session and I was pleasantly surprised to see him walking around. Then it hit me he is only 9mo and is WALKING! He is going to be running by me at his 12mo session! I am a HUGE fan of overalls and was delighted to see Cam in his, they really showed off those gorgeous little eyes! I can't wait to visit his hometown in a few months for his 12mo session! I hope yall enjoyed the sneak peaks!

Caleb is 9mo! {Lexington, NC Baby Photographer}

Caleb is always such a happy little guy to work with and aside from being put in the grass (he does NOT like grass!) this session was no different! We spent some time capturing a little southern side and all boy in these pictures. From the carhart diaper cover to the toy tractor I think we met that description quite well! We even threw Daddy's hat in the mix, I'm not quite sure if Caleb is a tarheels fan or not! I hope yall enjoy the sneak peaks!
